2012 Registration Now Open

"STAY, PLAY AND LEARN TOGETHER!"

Starting this summer, in June 2012, we will be launching a summer tournament team, the "Lancers Futures Lacrosse Club." The team is defined as a "stay and play" team that will be for the betterment of players who are or will be attending Holy Cross High School. The club is for the player who wishes to continue playing following his spring season and has the desire to enhance his game and play at the highest level of lacrosse. This player may also be interested in playing in college and wishes to participate in summer and fall recruiting tournaments. Players from outside the Holy Cross program may also register for the team. These players may be taken based on the needs of the team.

After careful evaluation of the South Jersey Lacrosse landscape, along with feedback from parents, players, and various coaches, I believe now is the time to begin a summer program at Holy Cross High School. I feel a summer program is a necessary extension of all the hard work that the players, parents, and coaches put in during the season. The futures program will benefit both our players and our program on many levels.

The sport of lacrosse continues to grow in South Jersey. With select clubs, leagues, clinics, and local camps, players are finding it easier to participate in opportunities to better their skills and enjoy the fastest game on two feet. Our local-area select club teams have played an invaluable role in growing South Jersey Lacrosse. These clubs have given opportunities to a great number of players including many Holy Cross players and will continue to do so. But many other players find themselves unable to land a spot on select recruiting clubs due to time conflicts, family obligations, competition, and cost. My hope, through the Lancers Futures program, is to offer the Holy Cross student another option: an affordable way for players to stay active, work together, and have fun during a lacrosse-filled spring. We will do this all while playing lacrosse at the highest level and facing the best competition.

In summary, I believe our high school's future success will have a great deal to do with the success of the summer program. It's important your son takes advantage of this opportunity and the other playing opportunities our Holy Cross program offers. The continued commitment to our "Lacrosse Family", by parents, alumni, and players will insure our year-in year-out winning tradition.
